    Hi Everyone

I have got an Audi A4 1.9 TDI 130 115k on the clock engine code AWX. I am thinking of converting to Gas.

I would like some advice on where is the best place to get this done properly and what are the disadvantages of doing this ect??

I do not want to do it, if this going to casue problem to the engine in long terms and there is no way of going back.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

    Vasi

How much is the conversion and how much is the car currently worth?

You have one of the most reliable TDIs by the way which does good MPG?

Gas as in LPG or Gasoline?

If it's the former - http://www.go-lpg.co.uk/diesel.html - probably not worth the expense at all.

The latter - doable but why?

a bit of propane in with the airflow just gives you a bit more bang for your buck, helps the diesel burn a bit more. worth it ? probably not, not with an already quick engine, i would imagine it would be a bit too quick. a remap would be less bother and give about the same result. are you after power or economy ?

    Hi Guys

Thank you very much for all your replys.

@Chris - I do not know how much it cost to convert, currently its worth £2500 ish and yeah it is a really good engine and i get average 43MPG local.

@ Doctle - if i were to covert it, it will be LPG i was thinking of

@Zollaf - Yeah i was thinking about the remap wich will saves me lot of trouble, where would you think is a best place to get the remap done?

    Thanks

You should waste your money on drink and women instead of trying to convert a diesel to LPG, you'll get a better return for your money

you would probably be quite amazed what results you can get. about 30 % better efficiency is what a 2 /4 diesel landy got running on a bit of balloon gas (the big floaty type of balloon)
