Alarm not sounding and odd wipers!!!

Hello
sorry but I have a few newbie questions to ask
whilst reprogramming my spare key I accidentally set off the alarm
The indicators flashed but there was no siren Does this mean the sirens had it or can it be turned off ????
And secondly when I use the windscreen washer jets the fan speed ramps to full for a few seconds and then goes back to normal
is this normal ????

The alarm horn not working is a fault.
The fan increase is probably the system using recirculation after the washers have been used, this is not a fault.
