2.0 tdi 170 poor fuel consumption

Hi folks, after 3 months of ownership of my 2008 (57) A4 2.0 tdi 170 I am very disappointed with the fuel consumption figures, At 70mph on dual carriageway I am only getting between 35-35.4 mpg.. !!! at 80mph between 34.5-35 mpg and as low as 24mpg driving locally around town.. the car has don e 104k but surely that is just run in for an audi engine .. The egr valve & intake manifold have both been removed & thoroughly cleaned, the amount of crud in there was amazing !! have also replaced the the vacuum unit that operates the flaps in the intake manifold as the diaphragm had a hole in it.. new boost pressure valve, bank 1 lamda sensor at front of catalyst, coolant temperature sensor & full service including all filters .. I just don't know if i have missed something obvious I

I have a 170 Quattro and it is pretty poor on fuel but I accept it now, good car though!

have you had a diagnostic scan and a check in live data to make sure everything is as it should be ? coolant temp, etc...those figure sound really poor. i mean, my old 80 with admittedly half the power, will not do less than 46mpg and a bit more on a run. if i had a 2 litre diesel and was only getting that , i would be getting rid and driving an s4.
