I presume if you try again without the phone connected that Home will reappear. Does Mrs W have a Home contact on her phone?
Just checked, and yes she does - so that's that.

    [dramatic pause]

Unfortunately, there's no address in that contact, so that's not that.

Is yours fairly up to date software wise? This definitely wasn't a problem this extreme before the latest update in June of this year.

My car has not been to the dealer since I bought it in June 2012 so it does not have any software update (currently running P11474 and BT 3.22.6) I am thinking it may be that the lack of an address in Home on the phone is confusing it as it thinks I cannot have a Nav favourite if there is no address. My Home entry n my phone does have an address

Red herring then, the software update I mean.

I've never had a "home" in my phone though, and this wasn't a problem before. I'll try adding one in now (with an address) and see what happens. BBIAB.

Right. Not that this is definitive at all of course. But this is what happened - Chris will be pleased he was right at the start.

Added a Home to the phone's contacts, with address, made no odds. Still deleted the Home favourite in the car immediately upon BT transfer.

Then aded the Home favourite to the car again after the BT handshake and it's remained after a couple of car reboots. Also, deleting the Home contact on the phone has not affected the car either. So it's not a requirement to have that? I don't know. Vague.

No idea at all what will happen later once the Wife's been near it again and more importantly another iPhone has synced and left it's BT mess all over the place. I suspect the Home favourite will be no more.

I'll get her to add it again herself later on and see if it survives a couple of syncs from both phones.

Also, this would fit in with what I was saying about it not being as much of an issue before the software update. You can catch the Nav in a good mood if it's before the phone's started syncing but after the boot process of the Nav system. In that there is a window of opportunity to start a navigation to your Home favourite - think the boot must be slower since the updates and therefore the window is smaller.

    Science.

I have the same problem. It's definitely dependant on whether you have your phone connected via Bluetooth. Once connected it comes up after about 30 secs.

Doesn't do this on my wife's Q7...but is 12 months older & different software.

Also, only last week, I took the car in complaining the screen had twice not come out from the dashboard on start up. They oiled the runners. It has not happened since, but was it a coincidence that the two times it happened were the coldest days this year since getting the car.

purchased in Sept....A6 C7 S-Line Black Edition...don't know there is a common fault here.
