    Hi Guys,

I have the 2011 NAV maps on my A6. It's the SD based MMI with the low-res screen. I think its called the RMC?

Anyway, I have been investigating updates for the NAV and reading online, it seems that its VERY expensive from Audi.

There are a few people on eBay selling second hand SD cards LINK. Some mention activation codes. Is this something I will need to do on mine if I purchase one of these second hand SD card packs, or is it only once that the NAV needs activation, and as this is an updated SD card, it works out the box?

If not, is it something I could do with VCDS?

    Thanks!

(note to mods - I know some people mention illegal downloads, but this is certainly not the case! I'm just wondering if I can get away with a second hand card for a little less money )

Afaik you can buy the second hand map card but you still need it activated at Audi.

Best contacting them directly as the price can vary from dealer to dealer.

I fear that many dealers may decide they are only willing to activate updates that they have supplied
