I need to replace the right-side gearbox mounting bracket.

I understand that the correct part number is 8D0 399 108R. However, this seems to be hard to come by second-hand (and I have neither the finances nor the inclination to part with many £'s or indeed €'s at the mean ********...

I can, however locate part no. 8D0 399 114S, which on some websites is mentioned as being a replacement part.

Can anybody clarify whether this is, in fact the case?

    TIA

If it's diesel any 1.9 Passat/A4 from 96-05 should fit. I can't say about petrol cars as I hate them. Used will cost you about 30 yoyos Traynors deliver all over Ireland http://www.traynors.co.uk/

They are both the same part. 8D0 399 114S is just the old version.

@martin1810 - many thanks, Martin...it just arrived and looks fairly similar alright.

By the way, your site is excellent...I've gleaned a lot of info there.
