    Hi All,

Flat battery after few days of non use.

Have connected multi meter in circuit to battery neg cable and neg post and is registering a 0.68 amp drain.

Have scanned with VCDS lite and its detected these 2 faults:

Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 8E0-820-043.LBL
    Controller: 8E0 820 043 AC
    Component: A4 Klimaautomat 1450
    Coding: 00000
    Shop #: WSC 00665
    VCID: 62B788C7FD57
    2 Faults Found:
00716 - Air recirculation Flap Positioning Motor (V113)
41-00 - Blocked or No Voltage
    00819 - High Pressure Sensor (G65)
    07-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent

would either of these faults cause a parasitic drain on battery?

I was going to keep m/meter connected and start pulling fuses to see if drain dropped but fuse box is at lower side of dash so would have to keep door open and unsure if that would cause more current to drain and register on meter or maybe blow it (10 amp max).

Any advice how to progress and pinpoint drain?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I dont think those faultcodes are related to your problem. Start pulling fuses one by one to locate the right circuit

    Hi,

yes i was thinking about doing that but unsure as would have to have front drivers door open to access fuse box and dont know if that would use more current and increase drain or blow my m/meter which has 10 amp maximum.

Any ideas if this would increase the drain / amps?

Connect your multimeter again and pull the fueses 1 by 1 and watch when the power drain dropes,a lot of times its the radio. Also make sure you boot and glove box lights switch off.

    Hi,

    Thanks

My only concern is that to gain access to fuse box i must leave the drivers door open, i suspect that this act will change the readings on my m/meter as central locking / convenience module will activate systems, such as door / interior light circuits, central locking etc and give me false readings and at worst overload my m/meter which is limited at 10 amps.

Any knowledge on these systems would be appreciated.

I don`t know what your car is but if there is no switch on the pillar that its in the lock so just click the door lock twice so the system reads locked

How long did you keep the multimeter in circuit for? Bear in mind that some bits of the system only go to sleep after the car has been locked up for a while. Also, the fault codes you list can often mean the stepper motors for the control flaps will keep trying to operate for a few minutes (if you sit in the car when you have turned off the ignition you will hear them behind the dashboard) so you could have been measuring that.....
