Hi, quick question, when you talk about MPG, is it UK units? Or is the Audis set to US units from factory. A lot of difference between the two.. Mine shows l/100 km.

As you're in mainland Europe you run in KM so the l/100km is correct.

Not sure why you posted in Site Issues though

I posted in site issues because its an issue I have with this site.

My question is: when you (the people on this forum) talk about MPG, is that in UK or US units?

(The reason why I ask is because I have a high fuel consumption, and want to know whats normal for this car. I have been searching and found some posts about it, and what to do. I just dont know how to convert your MPG to l/100 km, because I dont know which MPG you use.)

See http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/ for converting from UK MPG to US MPG or to l/100 km.

Well we're in the UK so UK mpg units.

Put your l/100km into this Convert MPG to Litre (Miles Per Gallon to Liter Converter) and it'll tell you the UK equivalent MPG or the opposite.

    UK gallon 4.55 litres

    US Gallon 3.5 litres

Remember that when you do any conversions from litres/100km to Miles per either Imperial or US Gallons

One thing to think about is that the readings on the display are not particularly accurate: my Mk5 Golf (Bluemotion) tells me that it is averaging 58.9 MPG at the moment, having dropped from 59MPG a fortnight ago as the winter weather gets colder. However, using the actual figures (mileage, cost/litre and total cost of fuel added) in a spreadsheet shows it is actually doing 51.89 MPG (about 1MPG less than my 100BHP Mk4 Golf estate).
