    I have an Audi A3 2.0 tdi sport 2003.

The car keeps cutting out and it happens sporadically where the car completely loses power and electrics and you have to pull over to turn off and restart.

This does not seem to be reproduceable and it has been taken into an Audi dealer who cannot find the fault.

This happens at both high and low speed and also wet and dry weather.

Can someone please help me out as I do not know what to do.

When you say completely loses electrics do you mean everything, lights, wipers, radio, heater blower etc? Can you send me your chassis number by PM?

    I cannot send PM's.

The problem occurs more when driving harder and when going uphill but not all the time.

The eletrics all work though so it is only a engine cut out problem.

To reset it, whilst going a long, I just switch off the engine (with the key in the ignition) and switch back on and the problem is resolved. Not much fun though on the outside lane of the M25!
