Hi I've got a problem with the ABS ECU on an A6 2.5TDI 1999 AVANT. Need to remove the electronics end of the unit, which appears to be held on with six screws. Any advice would be welcome?

What leads you to think there is something wrong with it ?

Most abs probelms are wheel sensor related. Have you had it scanned for faults ?

If you are going to split it take the unit off complete and then seperate the ecu from the solonoid block,be caefull to line it up when inserting new ecu.

Dealer diagnosed the control unit as faulty, quote"tried to interrogate abs fault and memory - unable to connect, checked connections going to abs control - all fine. control unit faulty." Thet've quoted £1,000 for a replacement!
