    Hi all
I've recently picked up a 58reg A4 Avant which came with the cd auto changer and 'basic' screen, however my previous A5 58 reg (before the baby) came with DVD player two sd slots and HDD and a much better screen, and although I didn't think I'd be that bothered, I am. The system I have currently is clearly not as good and I have to look at it every day.
So.. Can I change the system over and if so how easy might it be?

    thanks for reading
    Adam

Could you post a pic of the screen as there numerous options available?

Whatever system is currently fitted its not gonna be cheap to upgrade, probably a minimum £1k at least. Why did you not just buy a car with it installed?

This, it will be very expensive to change. I have a 58 plate A4 Avant with the in dash 6 disc, but mines MMI High. The man that fitted my Bluetooth identified immediately that mine was a 58 plate (I have a private reg on it, so that didn't give it away!) due to 58 plates being the only ones with the in dash 6 disc! Or so he believed.

How long for though? I think it was only 58 plates before they went onto SD cards?

I think Symphony's still had the SD reader?

The A5 I had on loan had Symphony and SD.

Mine is an '09 plate with a 6-disc Symphony and has SD slot. Not a scooby what speakers I have (how do you tell?), but they aren't too shabby for factory fit.

Bang and Olofusen (spl) (shown below) will have a chrome effect surround and BOSE will have a BOSE badge on 'em.

I always knew taking pics of courtesy cars would come in useful some day!

Ah, mine must be bog standard then - to be fair though, they aren't bad at all

In fact, I would go as far as saying the system in mine is better than the Bose setup in my mates '07 B7

I agree, the standard speakers in my A3 and A6 perform well and didn't really notice a difference compared to the B&O. Although I don't think Absolute 80s pushes them to their limits
