I assume that this is ignition powered camera.
Where do you power up from for parking use ?

Well yes because its running off a ignition fuse?

I don't use the parking mode as the car just sits in work all day mostly.

I want my cake & eat it. I can't see any other way to run both power sources other than the way in my first diagram.
I have to do this front and rear for the two cameras so that I can have either camera running, depending on how I am parked.

You could buy two of these BlackVue - Power Magic Pro for BlackVue In Car Cameras | eBay

But there are reports that they're not very good as if the battery reaches the specified cut off point, the camera automatically won't come back on once the car is started.

If you're worried about parking, just park in the corner of the car park and take up 4 spaces like I do the odd time

I suggest looking on a electronics forum if you're looking to go further than the fuse-taps.

Looked at these Chris, not too keen on them as I will only be parked up for about 1 hour.

no idea, i just used an un-used slot and by chance it was switched.

use your rear wiper fuse, seems the obvious thing to do like I did with my a3.

The fuse that you have used Chris is free on my fuse board. I have tested it and it is ignition controled.

I am now going to wire the front Blackvue direct to this fuse as I always park front in to protect the grill, but I am going with the set-up below for the rear so that I have the option of ignition or constant live for parking.
What I want to know is :- What size fuse do I fit to protect/operate one Blackvue (3.3w max consumption) and to trigger the relay (40A 12v DC) for the rear set-up ?.
