Front Brake Discs/Pads

Hello all, I hope this is the right place to post this question:

I have been advised to replace my front brake discs/pads on a 2008 Audi A4 (B8).
I have been quoted £453 for this service (not from an Audi Dealer by the way).

Does this sound reasonable?

depends what car it is really as there are varios b8 a4's with different brakes.

The fixed price servicing at Audi quotes £269 for front discs and pads, so your quote seems high. (But as mentioned, not knowing your engine size - fixed price servicing is up to 2.0)

exactly, if its an rs4 then thats a good price. if its a 2.0 tdi then its a bit steep.

As I probably should have mentioned in the beginning my A4 is the 1.8T - the fixed price quote is accurate and a no-brainer given my earlier quote of £453!

the other garage were probably quoting you for the diamond encrusted pads and gold plated discs.
