I'm looking for some advice on winter wheels. I currently have an A6 2008 Le Mans 3.0TDi Quattro on 19" Michelin Pilot Sports. I am looking for some winter wheels and have gone to the old favourite Ebay. I have seen a full set of 17" which have come off an A6 Allroad, I'm currently waiting to get some more details on the car they have come off.

The alloys look ok (Not quite as good as the 7 double spoke I have currently on), and the rubber looks fairly fresh, but will get a better look before buying. But what I need to know is should these fit my A6 or do I need to get anything else checked? I know I was looking last year at some of a different model but would have needed to get some spacers for the wheels so I didn't proceed.

    Cheers for any Advice.

I believe the sticker inside your fuel flap will give you a guide to the sizes of wheels that will fit your particular car. Just as a starting point, other 3.0 owners will maybe be able to give you further options tomorrow though.

Check the bore size just to be sure?

Its a good move to go to 17's from 19's for winter tyres, please bear in mind your offset as this is critical for clearance and will determine how far into the wheel well or how far out they sit.

    Good luck

    Welcome to VWAF

    Winter Wheels

    Winter wheels/tyres.

Correct tyre sizes spread throughout those threads and further advice.

Any wheel off a C6 will be fine but if off any other model then further investigation is needed.

Thanks Guys I have had the confirmation they are from the A6 Allroad 2008 2.7.

Now need just to confirm the the bore and offset is the same on the A6 Allroad 2008 2.7 as the A6 Le Mans 2008 3.0Tdi.

    Cheers

They'll be grand as they're the same chassis.

Just make sure the tyres are 225/50/17.

I have a feeling the winter tyre specs for the allroad use slightly larger tyres (55 instead of 50).
