Engine code issue! HELP

Hi guys.

I'm having slight difficulty. I bought my 2012 B8 A4 Avant 3.0 Tdi V6 4 Months ago from a mean dealer.
Anyway, the spec wasnt what i wanted, i wanted the 240hp engine which i thought was the only one used in the B8 models - this was advertised as a 201hp and assured it was right! i like the £120 a year tax price, and loved the car so got it.

Anyway, im looking into a remap and i've come across a few issues.
Engine code on log book says CLAB ######
i have an Experian Vin / reg check by the meain dealer, says CLAB ######
the sticker on the side of my cam cover - CLA ######

i was under the impresson the CLAB was 201hp and the CLA was 240?

a friend has VAGCOM can this confirm?
or am i talking crap and making a mess out of nothing?

Go by the code on the data sticker in the spare wheel well.

There will also be a figure in KW in there so use http://www.rapidtables.com/convert/power/kw-to-bhp.htm to convert it to BHP

Unless im being stupid, but there is no other sticker in the wheel well just the wheel and battery / cover.

Is there any engraving on the engine itself, other than the cam cover sticker ?

Whats your reg number? Sometimes it can be under the spare wheel, take it out.

The same sticker will also be in the front inside page of the original service book (non duplicate).

Post it up then once I see it and check it I'll remove it.

the sticker in the service book says its a 150KW (201hp) CLAB

This differs to the one on the engine CLA (240hp?) and thought that the CLAB stopped in 08 anyway?

No idea but the sticker is correct.

I konw on some other CR engines the last letter, B in your case is left off, usually to show that most other parts of the engine are shared in different variations. The 2.0's are the same, CAHA, CAHB etc.

The 201 CLAB is a new engine for the B8 and all 09 onwards engines were CR (common rail).

I believe that 201 engine was brought in fairly recently to replace the 2.7 litre. Maybe for the facelifted B8?
The 240/245 version is used in quattro variations.

Correct, the 201 3.0 replaced the old 2.7 and came in fwd only.

240/245 quattro only.
