hey mate, dont worry about being a damp squib!

ive had my current passat for 5.5 years - and really fancy the change

it is the cleanest car i have ever seen - the guy went mad on the options - even the high quality carpet mats, and proper vw mudflaps and stuff!

it has vw option wheels - ill let you know what they are when i pick it up tomorrow

the exterior and interior are unmarked

im looking forward to the leather - and i really enjoyed the drive when i spent an hour with it

its got pdc - so all of my neighbours will be pleased ( the wife might of hit a few cars in her time!)

so i get your point - but im looking forward - and its only 3 grand - if its a lemon ill get out of it!

i drive a little alfa most of the time so im happy with that - i just pay for the passat, clean the passat, fix the passat, you get the picture!

    take care all

    paulos130

(thats a good point - i dont need to change my handle - the new one is a 130 as well!)

I hope it is as good as you are expecting, it sounds great, I must admit I love the leather in my 2005 and it is super economical (I once did 857 miles on one tank, much better than my 02 100bhp Passat S)
I hope yours does not have the passenger side A post waterfall that destroys the plug and socket connections lower down (I have by-passed a few, I now need to by-pass the rest and throw the lot in the bin) and you do not get the door lock hassle that I have had (I buy pre 2005 door locks and fit them, much better quality)
You may notice the lack of illumination on the 2005, for some strange reason a few have been removed from the interior (vents are all lit on my 02 but not the 05)
My wife has the 02 so I drive it on occasions, I still prefer it, when the 05 dies it will be replaced with a 04, for sure.

by the way - the new highline is amazing - i will get some pictures up once i spend some more time with it - the wife has stolen it all week as she loves it so much!

its sooooo smooth, and the leather is great. I love the orange lights coming down from the mirror! They are very cool.

only used it on one long (ish) run - and only got 41mpg - bit disappointed - my memory goes back to when i was advised to update / replace the coolant temp sensor on my old one - should i go for that to start with do you reckon?

    cheers
