From my recollection when we bought our Mk6 Golf, the model changes came in June. We are thinking of a GT, but would wait until guaranteed a 2014 revision. Does anyone have any information?
    Thanks.

I've just bought a 1 Sept 2013 registered Mk7 GT to replace a 1 March registered one (job change). The Sept car is 2014 MY, but the changes are very minor, as far as i can tell.

My Mk7 is currently on order, delivery is March 2014.

What is the difference between 13MY & 14MY?

All I noticed was smaller lights on the handbrake and auto hold buttons (2013 MY probably considered too bright, can be distracting) and different logos on the mode select screen. I think the MFSW button logos were different as well. Nothing radical.

VW change their model year in June. So the next change will be June 2014 which will be to MY2015. Details are normally circulated to dealers around April.

The Adaptive Cruise Control radar on the font grill changed from a black hemi-spherical dome (MY13) to a small flat black square (MY14).

For those interested, VWUK have confirmed to me that the 2015 model changes will be announced in week 22 (May).

Have spotted two more 2014MY changes. With your phone connected there's now a little phone symbol next to the signal strength indicator. When you turn the ignition key a message 'starting engine' appears in the MFD, whereas 2013 shows a VW logo - a statement of the bleeding obvious, perhaps? You wonder why they bother.

CanI make a few comments as a yet non-MK7 owner. From what I have gathered on other forums, there are more worrying problems experienced by a few owners and I wonder whether they are going to be addressed? These include oft reported suspension noises and smearing of the wiper blades.

HHGTTG: Issues with my GTD have been smeary drivers side wiper (seen this on every VW I have bought since MK5 Golf) due to the crappy Valeo wipers. Easy fix with Bosch Aerotwin. Standard fitment of Bridgestone Potenza tyres are a huge disappointment too. Grip is appalling in all but the driest conditions, they also have incredibly poor rolling resistance - I get a lot of tramping with these tyres on, you really have to rein in the power in 1st and 2nd gear to avoid it. Some MK6ers have reported 10% gains in fuel economy when their Potenzas wore out and they replaced them with something better like Michelin Pilot Sport 3. I had my suspension top mount bearings replaced on the fronts because the suspension creaked like a Spanish Galleon. They might have sustained damage in transit, but what may have exacerbated the issue is that the dealership left a set of transit pucks in on the struts which I discovered and removed at about 300 miles. These seem to be the common issues I see most on the forums.
