Well I suppose it had to happen some time - after more than a year escaping any type of damage, I kerbed one of my alloy wheels - the damage is very slight, at the evey edge of the allow - however every time I walk to the car I notice the damage.. I need to get it fixed... Why to councils have such high kerbs...!!!

Anyone have any recommendations for who can repair kerbed alloys? Dont know if Audi offer such a service - I will call them on Monday... I have contaced Chipaway' - I am expecting a quote from them soon... I have also seen various repair kits on the internet - anyone have any experience of these kits?

Audi do a tyre and alloy wheel damage cover but I don't know if you can take this cover out after you have bought the car. I got this cover when I purchased my A7 last month

I hope they are not rotor wheels.
I have these on my car and 2 of the wheels have a scuff of about 1cm long. Shown them to 2 of my local guys and both said these wheels are tricky and will not do them, they both said the wheel will have to be sent away at and a few mm shaved of on a lathe. But cannot guarantee the result.
They advised me to live it and not get them repaired as it will only happen again and you may not be able to put them on a lathe the 2nd time.
By the way cost was around 120 per wheel and takes around a week to do.

You should invest in a set of Alloygators, around £65 for the set. Do them in lots of different colours including silver and black. just put name into google. Will prevent any damage to your alloys.

Glasgow Audi offered a refurbishment they had a damaged wheel and a refurbished one in the showroom, suppose all Audi dealers offer this service. I would not advise Chipsaway as they only dress and paint the damaged area, use a company that clean up wheel on lathe and powder coat after repair.
Good luck in getting repaired, must admit I hate the look of kerbed alloys and why I would not get low profile tyres fitted again to my car.

I didn't have the option of a higher profile tyre when I ordered my car. I've often wondered why you can't specify a smaller wheel, but larger sidewall when ordering a car to get more comfort. How did you avoid this and not get low profile tyres fitted? Did u have to buy new wheels?

Ask your dealer, most will have the facility to do it but whether or not they'll offer it as a service direct to customer might depend.

They'll have somewhere or someone who does all the used approved cars prep. Sometimes it's a guy who comes onsite, sometimes a local place they'll take the cars too. Worth asking I'm sure they can offer you something.

Whether the price is competitive would be another matter but so long as the job is done right with dealer backing then it might be worth a bit more.

I was going to buy a Black Edition but as my last A6 had 19" wheels and low profile tyres I bought the S Line instead.

The last wheel I dinged was on the A8 coming out of a car park with those stupid and pointless guide kerbs. A local body shop had a man in a van who did dent removal and wheels. By the end of the day you couldn't see it. I think Halfords do Alloy wheel repair now as well. I can fully symapthise with it being the first thing you notice when you walk up to the car.

Bit of an eye-popper re those BE 20"s. Take care with them kerbs chaps !
