Hi Chris, it's the earlier engine I guess as it was registered March 2008. Occasionaly it would just cut out regardless of road conditions, speed etc. I would put it into neutral and it would start again no probs. Cheers Nick.

Do you mean a crankshaft position sensor? What is your engine code?

It's a 2.0 TDi, there's no crankshaft oil pressure sensor that I'm aware of. Sensors wear out over time and they're usually easily accessible most can be replaced in 60 minutes or less

There is no crankshaft oil pressure sensor. The engine is a BRE and it sounds like the oil pump has failed due the the bad design of the oil pump and balance shaft. Regards Peter

Apparently there are two oil pressure sensors and the garage are going to find out which one has failed on Wednesday- hopefully not too expensive as it should be easily accessible. They initially thought that it was a sensor built into or near the oil pump.If there was a major problem with the oil pump surely the engine management light would come on. Ill keep you posted.

it takes less than 6 hours to change the oil pump and that's a big job. Are they still going with 7-8 hours?
