    Hi

Hope someone can help, I've looked through the forum and read a lot of posts about this issue, which unfortunately seems to be quite common : (

I've recently bought a A4 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro S Line Tip Auto 55 plate BKN. Lovely car, but it's being a little temperamental! I've been getting the Glow plug warning light coming on all the time, which puts it into Limp mode.

Oddly this problem only started after the right rear brake bulb blew. (I was told by my local garage that this can weirdly cause the glow plug light to come on, and that this particular model has a very sensitive ECU).

I booked the car into the garage as the brake pad warning light was also constantly on. I had the front discs and pads replaced, had a Diagnostic scan and a reset of all the fault codes, and the car drove like a dream….. until 2 weeks later, bam Glow plug light back on, oddly this time it didn't seem to make any difference how the car was being driven, (first time, it only seemed to come on when it was given a bit of welly) now it appears to come on at exactly 45.9 Km/h (see codes below).

Took the car back to the garage and they did another Diagnostics scan and rest the codes. They said they were at a bit of a loss and suggested that I drove it to see how I got on, failing that take it to a main dealer. Driving home from the garage, yes you guessed it. Glow plug light came on.

I've read so many posts on this, and I'm sure I read that an ECU update could potentially be a fix?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated before I trundle off in limp mode to Audi to have my pants pulled down.

    Here are the codes:

(As much as the Fuel pressure faults, I'm interested in the last two Faults (Address 02: Auto Trans U0100 and U0104) as these happened 250miles (2 days) before I bought the car)

Ring Audi Customer Services on 0800 699 888 and see if there are any outstanding recalls for your car.

I can only find 16567/P0183/000387 - Ross-Tech Wiki after a quick search, busy atm but will have a look later for you if you already haven't done so!

    Thank you A6_Chris

i'll give audi a ring in the morning. (Just rang them, and Don Warrington - rising damp - informed me that they are closed till 8am).

I had a quick look on the VOSA website for recalls but could only find one for 2004.

do you think it could it be the fuel temp sensor, causing the issue, and the other fault codes? This is a real learning curve for me, so apologies if I'm a bit slow getting to grips with this.

    thanks again.

    update:

just rang Audi and there are no recalls on my car at all. : (
