Hi, have a look under the front seats to see iof any of the connectors have become disturbed. With ignition off , unplug and replug connections as they can give problems. Then I'm afraid it could be off to the diognostic man who has the code readers etc. Could be pricey depending where you go and replacing allegedly failed items won't be cheap, but it's the only route I know.

hey maz, how did you get your light to go out, i also have this problem, and my sister, had the problem in her citroen xsara, one of her connectors had come undone like kow said, i just hope my a3 has that problem, i just havent had time to look for wiring yet!!

Sometimes the light just comes on and once it is on it won't go off by itself. If there is no problem with the airbags, the reset tool (VAG) can turn it off. My mate was just hoovering his out and then the airbag light was on (sounds daft i know but it is true).
