Evenin' all - just thought that I would share a top tip when putting the rear lights back in on an A6 Avant (and my sincerest apologies if this is a well know workaround).

In the process of migrating from one Audi to another so thought that I would be a smart *** and remove the rather expensive rear LED light clusters I had fitted when I bought the car and maybe sell them (PM if interested - if that is allowed?) and found a clever little online guide to show a bit of a technophobe how to do it.

All worked great until I tried to refit the inner rear lights - the ones in the tailgate section. They are a total badgers backside to get back in with the larger of the two brackets needing countless movements to try and get it in line whilst trying to shine the head torch in and bend over backwards to see what you are doing!

The answer came to me but mistake - the small nut on the bracket is set into a little flange to keep it in place - well it pinged off, didn't lose it but without it on the bracket slotted into place as easy as you like.

Sadly for me, it took me another hour of cursing to realise that this was a good thing so took the nut off the second bracket and hey presto! Anyways, hope it might help someone else one day save an hour or two!!!

I read your post with interest even though I have a saloon.

I'm sure it'll help other members.

Just one point - If you can please edit your post to create Line breaks between lines, it'll make it much more appealing to read, usually when I see large block text I switch off.
Edit - Nice one, thank you

    Thanks for posting.........
