    Hi All,

When I first got my Allroad it correctly adjusted the ride height dependant on my speed. It has now decided that it will only do the lowering from Level 3 to Level 2 at above ~80km/h but when I slow down it stays at Level 2 instead of going back up to Level 3 as it used to.

Manual height adjustment works no problem.

Is there a button combination I have accidentally pressed that disables the Auto Ride-Height?

    Thanks,

    Des

if you have the early allroad you will find where the 4 level green lights are there is an orange MAN light,

if you have this, you have the option to switch from manual to auto (Manual, which will not go back the the pre-requested height)

press and hold the up arrow for 2-3 seconds to switch from MAN to auto.

if you dont have this MAN light then it suggests the system is low on pressure and cannot lift it back yup when parked

    regards

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Having installed one of your fine pump repair kits I know there is no lack of pump power!

As I mentioned, the car will change heights perfectly correctly when I press the up or (less surprisingly) the down button. What it won't do is go back to Level 3 from Level 2 when I slow down to below ~80Km/h.

It used to do this and I was wondering if I had inadvertently disabled the "auto" function?

I look forward to further suggestions.

    Cheers,

    Des

    Hi Andy,

No, sadly I have no "MAN" light or button ...

I had the impression that when I first got the car that it would work on automatic until I manually changed ride height. After doing so the automatic rise function wouldn't work, although the lower function above ~80km/h would always work. Stopping the car, turning off the ignition and re-starting would re-activate the automatic ride height control. This no longer happens.

Also, I wondered if at some point I had inadvertently disabled the function through some "secret" sequence of rise - lower button presses ...

If there is no such combination I have a full licence Ross-Tech system so I could investigate any settings if only I knew where to look! Is there a soft setting for this function do you know?

    Thanks for your help,

I thought the normal position was level 2, at speeds greater then 85mph ish the suspension drops to level 1, then at speeds lower than 30mph back up to level 2, at least this is how mine behaves.

I have no manual light, but if I set a position ie. level 1, this will last until I go above the 85mph threshold and back down again (even if there is a key off etc), the suspension will again revert to its normal level 2, appearing to override the manual selection.

The only change you can make to this behaviour is the base ride height with the 402 mod.

    Regards,
    Allan.

in Auto the car should go back to its previously Operators selected height, (the last level you told it to go to), so if you choose level 3, the car goes to level 3, but over 50MPH it lowers to 2 and 1 if going even faster but once slowed or parked it should go back to level 3 (the last height the driver selected)

manual mode is when the orange light is on, it sits next to the 4 green level lights on some models, when orange is lit this means it will stay at level 1 or level 2 and not raise up again to the last selected height, the MAN orange light is rare and only seems to be on the early models, i guess they decided it was a bit pointless as it is just that!

Dr_Des, i suggest a fualt code read, go to module 34 and scan for faults note them down and clear them to see if any come back, a fault code may limit the system from full functionality.

    regards

    Andy

Looks like according to SSP243 this is correct for levels 2 and 3 only, ie. levels 1 and 4 will always return to normal level 2. Level 3 should be resumed, but normal riding position is level 2.

I've never tried this at level 3 cause always wanted it to stay at level 1, which I know it doesn't, after any interference by speed ie a level change due to speed it will return to level 2.
