    Hi i'v been an viewed an Audi A4 Black Edition tfsi 170, it was an nice car only problem i saw was a 2 inch scuff on the alloy and the car needed a good washing, it was a 62 plate with 4000k miles and the owner never used it so it had just been on the driveway for a while, He wanted £19,500 for it but i might be able to get it to £19. the thing is i would have to take out a loan for £13,000 with £750 interest on it which i'm not fond of doing, i just wanted to know could i be missing out on a good deal or come this time next year if i saved would the same type of car be cheaper than that?

    welcome to the forum. a scuff is easy to sort out and wouldn't cost you much. its not the end of the world. a good valet won't cost much either. not sure if its cheap, look at others on ebay etc... remember though, a car that has stood can develop problems like discs rusting, which can be expensive.
    if you don't want to borrow money then look at something cheaper. what do you need or want the car for.

    I checked out the discs and they looked dirty but cudnt tell if it was rusty as it was darkish out, the car was used as a company car so had probably been thrashed abit? I took it for a test drive and everything seemed good i'v looked and this is by far the cheapest and i don't want to miss out yet i don't particularly want a huge debt over my head so it's one of them do i or don't i.

    £750 interest on a £13k loan isn't horrendous to be fair, and a car that has only done 4000 miles is barely run in; I would say that it depends on a number of things - do you really like this particular car over other similar ones? I know that I tend to buy cars on a gut instinct, and seem to be reasonably good at telling the good ones from the bad ones. Can you afford the car/repayments? Can you afford the insurance? And can you afford any other running costs (fuel, servicing etc);

    If you can answer yes to all of these, and you are as happy as you can be that its not suffered from standing a while, then I say go for it.

    Don't fall under the illusion that all company cars are thrashed within an inch of their lives - I have had a few company vehicles over the years, and always treated them in the same way I would if they were my own (so, pampered really!)

    Yes if i don't purchase this car now i will be purchasing the same model one a year from now regardless. But yet going off the prices of say a 2011 one now there still around 19k so this one seems like a bargain but i don't want to rush into it and then later regret it.
