Is there an easier way to start a thread 'cos I'm having difficulty navigating the site? Anyway that's a side issue and not the reason I posted, sorry.

Seems I have a couple of dodgy window switches on the driver's door pod but only the two for front windows. Passenger switch: Light split-second press and window goes all way down; light split-second pull and window doesn't come all the way up - have to keep switch in the 'up' position to ensure full closure. Driver's switch: Intermittent to say the least - a firm but brief press and window goes all way down; likewise will come up with a brief tug on switch. However, if I try to lightly depress switch to get window open just a short way, it doesn't want to know - have to firmly press switch then stop window with another press of switch. None of the other switches have this issue and work exactly as they should. I have carried out a full re-set (of all switches) as suggested by A_6 and my local Audi parts department - both individually and from the driver's door but nothing makes a difference. Assuming the switches are faulty (I believe they are), can I buy just two or will I have to fork out for the whole pod of four Would appreciate any advice or a solution - a very minor issue but it is driving me nuts!

    Thanks.

Ideally you'll find someone with VCDS to check for any fault codes, and they can use the measurement blocks function to tell for certain whether the switches are operating correctly.

If it were me though, I'd be finding new switches 2nd hand, not new. The switch block is all 4, but is only £15 on ebay. Different colours available though, you'll probably want the right one.

Thanks for the e bay suggestion, just ordered one. What is the best way of getting them off, which bit of trim is removed and how.

    TIA.

I know on the A6 and A3 you need the door card off so I can't see the A4 being much different.

I think you need to take the door panel off. Which is much easier than it sounds.

    see DIY: Door Panel Removal
    For a good guide.

you will almost certainly break some of the trim clips though, so buy more of these at audi parts or on eBay. Otherwise your door will probably rattle.
