Unusual engine / exhaust noise with tepid diesel

Hi my 1.6se TDI has a very throaty /noise from exhaust or engine when restarted after a couple of hours stopped ( hence tepid) not fully cold and certainly not fully warm. It is only apparent in 1,2,3 gears (manual). The car has done 3k miles and is otherwise fine. The noise goes after a couple of minutes normal driving. Any comments welcome.

If you say it goes after just two minutes I wouldn't be too worried sounds like normal diesel chatter to me.

Is it that loud and where exactly is the noise coming from engine bay or exhaust ?

Has it just appeared after 3,000 miles ?

Hi algarve, thanks for the reassurance I suppose it has been there from new. Almost sounds like a blowing exhaust. Quite fruity really. I won't worry, warranty and company lease will sort it out if all else fails.
