    Hi,

Trying to refit the standard SONY XR-4409 stereo in my MK3 Golf. Theiving twits broke into my car months ago and stole my JVC head unit. As you can see from the picture, they ripped off the plastic connector off a bunch of wires. Anyway, what do i need to do now to connect it back?

As you can see from the pic, the middle connector plugs into the back of the stereo. It leads out to 2 other connectors. The bottom 2 pics shows what is left in my car, the brown connector fits perfectly into the top right. But what do i do with the bottom left bunch of wires? I assume there was a plastic connector there that would plug into the top left conenctor?

The wrecked plug is the power plug. I'd pop in to your local scrappie and cut a plug off complete with the wire tails and splice these into your car. Bear in mind that the switched live and permanent live usually need to be reversed for non VW head units.

Well i wen to a couple of scrappys, couldn't find any MK3 Golfs would you believe so get this connecter (pic on left) off a Polo. Connector fits (into pic on right) but the cables don't match the exposed wires left in my car. Is this useable? The wires that do match are the brown, gray/blue and brown/red. Can anyone tell me how the other wires match up please?

The browns and reds should match up. Blue and white and white and blue are for illumination and for a motorised aerial so aren't critical.
