Finally got round to getting two of these for both cars and after 2 near misses (not my fault! ) I don't understand why I haven't had them in sooner!

Found them online from a seller, BEBUTTON.COM (BlackVue DR380G-HD) for £145 each with Special Delivery and had it next day at 7am. Also for a professional looking install, I contacted Martin (gizmo68) who made up two fuse tap looms for me so they could be added to the car's without modifing any wiring and can also be easily removed and moved to a different car if needed.

Heres some driving in the A6, will need to adjust the brightness a tad but generally the quality is dead on and you wouldn't even know its there unless you went looking for it!!

The two near misses were in the A3 and those are in the WGYG thread to view.

Anyway, heres some pics of the setup in both cars and two videos to view (second vid in post #2). Please press play then adjust the quality of the video into 720HD by pressing the little cog wheel and restart the video.

Sorry for the poor quality photos, using my wifes phone due to mine taking a swim in the sink.

One thing I did have to adjust was the sensitivity in the A6 due to the lower suspension, sodding car kept setting off the 'Event' alert, sorted now tho.

In time I'll try and tidy the wires and make them more tight but they'll do for now.

I can see pennies being saved in this house for one of those - living on the edge of the big smoke, we seem to have more than our fair share of masturbation experts driving around here, so one of those could just be handy.

PS - nice to hear the voice of the lovely Carol Decker in the second vid

They're definitely a good investment, my insurance co will drop £40 off my renewals just for having these, so theres £80 back (sorta!). Hopefully I'll never need to use them for the purpose they're designed for, but they're there just incase.

Ha! I was hoping no-one would hear that, Absolute 80s at its best there I'll maybe create a thread somewhere where we can share any bad driving videos, I know Aly on the forum has one of these too.

Didn't realise you can get a reduction on insurance premium... Wonder how much mine would drop... They would probably put it up knowing my luck!

I noticed that you have the speed recorded on the video... Not sure I would have that myself, depends how you drive I guess.

Each recording is 3 minutes long, this is interrupted if an 'Event' happens and this relies on g-sensors and thinks you're having a crash and this will run until everything levels out or you come to a stop.

I have quality up to full and have managed 2 days driving on the 8gb card, but if you don't grab any footage you need from the card, it will erase and re-record so it can't really be full so there will always be space should anything bad happen.

I might get some 16gb cards but honestly I don't think I'd need them.

Yeah just ask your insurance, I do mine thru a broker and is face-to-face so they're always good on getting discounts.

Yeah thats optional, I have it switched off in the A3 however as it said I was doing 95-100mph at one stage but wasn't, GPS signal must've been low. Oh that brings me onto another feature, your route is logged thru the blackvue software (I'll take a vid of this) along with g-readings, speed, time, location etc.
