Hi, sorry to ask but I'm trying to clear all the faults on the car. One of them is the failure of the H12 alarm horn.

Now I've looked at the workshop manuals, which shows its located in the pelnum chamber - but I canot locate it.

I've asked the dealer who said, yess in the pelnum chamber.

    Anyone swapped this out?

I'll post the pick from the manual (later), which has me confused.

    Thanks - rob

OK - from my manual all I can find is this, remove nut 2 and 3 - then take out brack 1 - underneath is the horn.

But I have no brack, nothing is there.

yeh, looking at the Vid on the link the final view (after it comes back into focus) is what I see. you have the two valves for the heater, then it should be on the right / or the left (differrent countries) - but I see nothing. I've been looking all over the chamber and nothing, AUDI say its there... but when I asked exactly ... they did not respond (waiting for it to be booked in I bet). If its somewhere else - the only possible place (might be wrong) - is the casing next to the front suspension (wheel arch)- the odd one with the security screws (I'll get a pick of this to show - as cables disapear in side. ... as its only the battery back up unit ... do others with the same issue just leave it?....

Ooops read this as car horn instead of alarm horn.

So your alarm doesn't chirp when you lock it?

my applogies, its a 2005 avant , (3.0 quattro). I've had the boot trim off in the last - not noticed it... I'll remove both and re-check.

    Thanks for the reply.

You have to remove the amplifier and base speaker, then the insulation and it reveals the Alarm system horn. Regards Peter
