    Help me please!!!!
    I have an Audi A4 2.0 TDI B8 Chassis

I have the following faults and the engine running rough on idle, the engine light keeps coming on, and the coil light seems to flicker every 60ish seconds. I have reset the codes several times over the past couple of weeks, but they keep coming back. I have VCDS, but very limited knowledge on how to use it.

Replace throttle valve and glow plugs (i'd advice all 4, £45 from ECP). Valve is on the right hand side of the engine where intake pipe comes in.
If you are struggling to find them, I'd advice you to get specialist to have look.

If you keep driving it with these faults, you will clog your DPF and replacement is £750+.

Good evening, thanks for your quick reply. Who are ECP?
I'm fairly confident at taking things apart and putting them back together, plus I can't afford to take it to a garage at the moment.
    How much is throttle valve?
Are the glowplugs £45 for the set?
Will I need to clean EGR?
Will I need to do a forced regen?
How do I identify the parts I will need?
Is there a way of testing the soot using VCDS?

Sorry for all the questions, but all and any help is much appreciated :-)

Do you have DPF light on? IF not, don't worry about regen, just take it for a drive.
You can test soot via VCDS via Advanced measuring blocks, i think it around number 100.

Throttle valve is around £170 and set of glow plugs £45 (Beru ones are same genuine).

ECP is eurocarparts. Beru for glow plugs and throttle valve is Siemens.

No DPF light on, just engine and coil.

Is the trottle valve a common problem?
I can't seem to find the throttle valve on ecp.

Will I need any specialist tools?

    Thanks

    Thanks for PM'ing part number.

How long do you think it would take to replace glow plugs and throttle valve?

Could I clean EGR with carburetta cleaner?

Oh and am I likely to loose any fluids?

Do you know what gaskets i would need to replace if i took out the EGR valve and cleaned it?

I am hoping to sort my car out tomorrow, weather depending.

Last night I replaced my throttle body and glow plugs - Thanks for your help crazy4alfa :-)

All seems ok, and no fault codes ........ yet!!!

When i removed the old throttle body, oil came out of the electrical connection, and there was oil in the body and intake pipe. Is this normal?

I had a full service carried out before i did the repairs if this has any relevance.

Thanks in advanced for any help :-)
