I started the S4 this morning, it hesitated to start so it took two goes to get it going but when it did I got a message on the dash display saying " do not exceed engine speed of 4000 rpm " there were no other lights on the dash just this message. I called my local dealer who tells me that this is although not common is known on the S and RS models due to change of weather. Is this right. I turned the car off started it again and all was well Should I be concerned ?

Any one in the Bracknell area able to run a scan on it. It's a 2010 car so Audi warranty expired. Although it does have a comprehensive dealer warranty but not main dealer. I was just surprised at Audi telling me not to worry.

I have been searching all the forums and all I can find is someone in the US having the same issue and that seemed to be an oil sensor. But others have had
it changed and the error message still appears.
