    Hi guys,

Looking to fit folding mirrors to my A6 C6 Facelift Avant (Nov 2010). I currently have the heated mirrors (no memory seats or auto dimming); what are the part numbers I need? I've had a look on Ebay (other auction sites are available ) but they all seem to come from 2007 and don't have the indicator built into them. Also, I've got the 'puddle lights' option...

    Thank you

    Owen.

If buying from audi then you only need the fold mirror carcase, then transfer the internals over from your originals.

Then its a new switch and some additional wiring and some VCDS coding.

As dan says, just a new folding mirror base and you can transfer your old casing and glass.

I'll have a look soon, I have some bits and pieces from when I was looking to do the retrofit but put off by price!

You may want to contact the OP of this thread New wing mirrors retrofit and get the part number off the mirror base as he's doing folding mirrors.

On my prefacelift car (2004-2009), the door control module will detect the folding switch when it moves to the folding notch, no extra wiring or coding.

The door mirrors folding attribute will be detected by door control module, which the wing mirror plug go into. Again no extra wiring other than what comes added into the 16 pin plug by factory in the mirror unit and no coding on mine.

Part no's I can provide if you like , if yours requires some coding the long coding helper should have balloons with help in them.

Here is a diagram for you to visualise what Dan & Chris are saying about only needing the mirror unit Link:- http://www.jimellisaudiparts.com/sho...hString=mirror

    That's awesome, thanks guys :-)

I'll do some more reading. Was hoping it would be a case of just swapping the mirrors over with no extra wiring. Read a pre facelift guide and they didn't have to. Hopefully its the same for the facelift cars?

No extra wiring, just double check your driver and passenger door mirror displays the option for folding mirrors in vcds which you'll need anyway as some versions of the same module may have updated software/firmware etc, it should but just double check and a new folding door mirror switch and trim.

Excellent, might have to get the bits direct from Audi (or at least the part numbers) then do the work myself. Thanks for all the help. Will thank people when I'm back on my tablet :-)

Hi, if you could provide the part numbers for the innards, if you have them to hand, that would be great. Can't find them easily on the internet and don't fancy phoning Audi up yet.

    Cheers.

Not a problem, I'm in no rush. I've recently moved myself so I know the pain you're going through!

    I'll send you an email.
