Hi All, Bought a 2004 Audi Estate Auto from a dealer 10 days ago, after a day or two realised the car had a very bed judder as I was driving it and took it for inspection to a mechanic ... I ve been quoted 1800 pounds to replace it, seems a little pricey to me not that I know anything about cars or clutches but did a bit of a research on the internet and I ve seen people talking about 600-700 pounds for a full clutch change, what do you think? Is this a fair price? Do I need to get a brand new one or should I go after a second hand clutch? As I said I have no idea so sorry if I m not making any sense !!! Before you ask, the car is from a dealer I ve told him the problem but he refuses to do anything about it and I am taking legal action against him but that's another story, I just need to get the car fixed as I live abroad and my wife and kids live in uk and need of an car urgently , thx for your help in advance

Thx for that but it is a little complicated issue, he sold me the car. Then took me for a drive telling me there is a bit of a wheel spin, he didn't know where from but he thinks its from the wet road. He knew the clutch was gone but never told me at the time of sale, also me being stupid signed a piece of paper with out reading it and I realised it sais the customer aware of judder which a lawyer sais because he never told you the real problem , what you signed dosent mean anything to court ... but back to clutch lets just say I had to pay for it, how much should I be looking at for an auto 2004 1.9 tdi Audi?

No doubt someone will go into more detail for you,but with an auto you are not looking at clutch replacement, far more complicated than that I'm afraid.
