drivers side door actuator lock not working 3B6 AWX.

After failing to lock on the remote but fine to lock using the key, I removed and inspected door actuator unit and found no problems with microswitches or motor and the like. Put it all back together and now the door stick thing goes down (and up) using the remote or the key but the door wont actually lock or show the alarm LED, though the alarm sounds when you open the door. Have I done something obvious as its completely thrown me. Probably better off getting a new module perhaps?.
Update: After removing the actuator and putting it all back together so that everything aligns correctly it works fine but has thrown up another slight 'anomoly' in that the door only opens on the 2nd pull of the handle after being unlocked for the 1st time. Update: The actuator cable was pulled through too far in the holder-just popped off the door lock and hoiked the square cable nipple out of its carrier and replaced it further back along the graduations. Now the door opens and closes perfectly. Hope this will be of some help??.
