    Hi All.
    The car is a MK4 1.6s 16v 2001 AZD 85,000mls.
Had new discs and pads fitted around march with the discs and pads being bought from GSF, and for a while, everything seemed fine.
After a while I started getting a metal scoring binding type of sound coming from the front of the car, especially noticable when driving in built up areas. I am currently experiencing a loud squeeling noise when braking when the car is warmed up.
I am thinking a bit of grease may help things for a while.
Are the problems I am experiencing due to having cheap discs and pads ?
I was thinking about getting new pads from VW in the hope that it will solve the problem.
Any ideas, info or help appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Marko.

I would have thought GSF would supply OE quality discs/pads, what brand were they?

I fitted Pagid discs/pads on an Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDi quattro no issues, they replaced genuine discs/pads ...

Could be a pebble or the dust cover. Just turn up the wireless!

Did the pads have the anti-squeal plastic coating on the piston/ caliper contact areas ? If not it's essential to use a smear of copper anti-sieze paste in these areas. I've used GSF Brembo high carbon discs for many years without any problems.

Didn't know there was a GSF in Belfast, I know there's ECP over on Falcon Road but everydays a school day.

As advised, check for any grit or stones and you used copper grease when fitting

Did you get back to the supplier - sometimes a 'faulty' batch of discs/pads can cause problems and they may have had complaints from others .
As said above GSF parts are generally good .
Were shims etc put back ? a dab of anti- squeal grease worth a try.
