Hi, I'm new to the forum and just left my introductions in the hello section.

So the problem as the title suggests;

I have a 2000 w-reg A4 Avant B5 with a 1.9 TDi. About 4 months ago I had a small coolant leak that I found was coming from the hose that comes from the back of the engine block and runs to the bulkhead and presumably the heater matrix. Specifically the leak seems to be coming from the plastic connection bit just before the right angle section turns it into a flange connecting to the engine block. I stuck a bottle of k-seal in (I know risk of blocking up all sorts of bits and bobs) which gave me a temporary fix, for about 4 months. However the leak has now returned and I'm topping up the coolant every couple of days.

I've done quite a bit of searching, both on this forum and across others, and it would seem the most likely culprit will be a seal within the flanged right angled hose connector bit. Now I've had the turbo air feed pipe off the top and can just about see the offending connector that I need to get off.

I guess my question is... has anyone done this before (I assume yes) and if so any tips. Any hidden bolts, star drive heads etc. A photo of the removed part would be handy too if there are any about, I can see where all the pipes etc are then before I begin.

Thanks in advance,

Adam
