Is it car grease? Autoglym products are pretty good, or you could try steam cleaning it

as above - interior foam cleaner with a soft scrubbing brush or a stream cleaner will remove most of the deadly sins from most materials

brake cleaner. spray it on, wipe it off, simples, probably won't harm the fabric. say probably as it most probably won't and i have never harmed anything with it. in fact it removes grease from pretty well anything, especially brakes.

No matter what you use, if it is water based, the grease will repell the product. Try using some neat washing up liquid like fairy or persil, these cut through the grease. Start from the outside edges and work inwards and don't be rubbing too much on just one spot as you could damage the upholstry. Once the soap has been applied and left for 5 mins, wipe it with a clean damp microfibre. Repeat if neccessary.

    Good luck.
