1.8 tfsi startup dashboard question...

Hi guys

I have recently bought a 2009 a4 avant with around 46000 on the clock. When I put the key in and press it (no clutch) to fire up the electrics, all the dash lights come on and then go off *except* the engine indicator and EPC lights, which stay on until the car is started.

Is this normal?

(I ask because we've had the odd startup problem that I guess might be related)

Yep that's normal, they'll stay on until you start the car and should remain OFF unless there is a problem.

The startup problems seem to have 'gone away' over the last few days, so if the dash lights are behaving as expected I'll put it down to cosmic rays, cancel the (under warranty) garage visit on Tuesday and keep an eye on it...
