Am biting the bullet and replacing compressor which is dead and will do drier at same time. Will also clean the Restrictor but where is it? Cannot see it..

Have been reading up on replacing the drier - can this be done without the bumper coming off? Surely it can. Headlight out?

Car is 1.9 TDi 2003 and I have never know a car to have so many AC issues! Doesn't help when you talk to people in the trade and they say "oh yes have done loads of compressors on those A4s"!

On my A6 4F the restrictor is located in AC piping, accessible by opening the union nut in images below ...

    Zoomed shot ...

Will check to see where it could be on an A4 1.9 TDi 2003 ...
