hi all,2002 b5.5 ashtray has fallen in too the housing and i cant fix it back in place it keeps falling forwards any ideas for fixing this,by the way its the front ashtray

Throw it out of the window, everybody else does, nobody uses ashtrays anymore or indicators or white lines, put it in a McDonald's bag and throw it out, join the rest of the morons.

Is that throw the ashtray out, or just throw the ash and fag butts out of the window like the morons?

I also have the same problem. It's not so much the use of the ash tray, but the lighter socket has dropped down with it and is difficult to plug anything into. If I get around to fixing mine soon, I'll let you know how I did.

There appear to be 2 lugs on the edge nearest you - these must locate in the plastic of the console just in front of the gear lever, but I don't know if it's possible to just pull it up and click them back into place.
