looking at a Vento as a cheap option to a bora - read recently that the Vento 1.9 CL diesel had just 75BHP. is this correct? seems miserly when u think even the small diesel golfs have 90+ BHP

most "small diesel golfs" have turbos bolted on You are comparing apples with oranges

Jetta CL equivalent in the Golf would be the SDI or similar, which is also 75BHP

If you want much more than 75BHP from a 2L diesel you will need a turbo diesel

most diesels without turbos are useless, the SDi golf for example only pushes arond 70/80 bhp, thats from a 1.9 diesel.

if you want more power, you're going to need a Tdi.
