My April 1999 1.9TDI AHU engined A4 is going to need a new clutch sharpish. Anyone know if its single or dual mass flywheel? Can't remember if it's a 90 or 115 bhp....

According to this thread - 1.9 tdi ahu dual mass?

It's single mass but check first.

BUT this thread Crasher states it has a DMF

Thanks for the links. I've ended up calling Audi parts and they think, based on the engine code, that it's highly likely to have a DMF. Bugger. Reckon I'll use GSF for parts when needed, unless someone else has a good link for parts?

its a 90 bhp rotary pump is an ahu. as to whether or not it has a dmf is anyones guess. i would say no it doesn't but if you call a reputable factors and give them the reg then they should be able to look it up and say for certain. i know mine can and they have never been wrong.

I think it is SMF on the older A4's I assume it depends on what vehicle the engine is fitted to. GSF and Europarts have an option to search by reg number

ooh, i wouldn't fit a sachs clutch. from what i can work out my audi had never had a new clutch at 310k miles and that was an original sachs that was fitted. mind you, i don't suppose 310k is too bad, especially when the po towed a caravan with it.
