130 Tdi loss of Power in Heavy Rain

Hi All,

I have '02 A4 85kmiles, 130bhp TDi Quattro, very nice car, but have this problem where it's losing power in heavy rain. You can imagine the howls of laughter from my friends when the 'quattro' losses power in the rain! -and we get a lot of it in Ireland

A mechanic friends tells me that he had this problem with a previous customer. He changed a valve located behind the right headlight, but it did not correct the problem. So he's reluctant to change the valve in my car. Another buddy of his suggested wrapping the valve in a plastic bag but he's not too keen doing that either, thinking that if water got inside the bag it would never dry out

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem in heavy rain found water was running in under the drivers headlamp and down on to the valve. I wrapped the valve in a plastic bag and sealed it well at the top

No problem sense thats over 8 months ago!!!!

P.S. You could put a small hole in the button of the bag
