2013 Passat Estate T-esp coding

I have a quote for fitting a Westfalia detatchable towbar with dedicated electrics (£440) to my new Passat Estate 2013. The company fitting the parts do not have the equipment for coding the Passat. However I had heard that the latest Passats do not need to be coded as they will see the dedicated wiring loom and the T-esp will function correctly - Is this correct??

just fitted towbar and electrics to 2013 estate, when I plug my electrics in I get a bulb failure light on the dash, My car needs coding.

Hi Peter, I can confirm that your vehicle will definitely need coding, it's compulsory for all Passat's even factory prepped models. Thanks.
