MMI Version Help

hi all

pretty new to this whole MMI thing so apologies if i sound really stupid!

ive got an Audi A6 (2006) model and im guessing it has an MMI 2G high model as the screen is colour and not Red and black. However, the screen in the middle of my dash is red and black and not colour - is my MMI still the 2G high?

ive also recently just bought a VNS Media unit from poland to be able to play MP3s via my ipod (didnt want to go down the dension gateway route as too pricey) however, although my ipod charges, the MMI wont detect the iphone. im assuming that my MMI will need updating - but not sure. i have listed the details i have got from the version number below - hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

SW: C6-HU 21.2.0 0534
HW: C6-HU 6351D2.0

Yes you have mmi 2g high if you have the large colour screen above the centre air vents.

You're on version 2120 - if you do a search for '5570' on here you'll find links to the discs you need along with a walkthrough.

hi chris - finding it a little difficult to find the links - can you help?

also is there any inbetween updates i need to do do you know? or can i just go straight to 5570?

so finally spoke to Leicester Audi today who advised me they cant sell me the firmware update disc and instead i have to book it into their workshop for a diagnostic and if it requires a update then they will do it and charge me labour...even though i advised you can get the discs on ebay the guy still refused - daylight robbery!

will be downloading the ISO files and doing it myself and save the £96 + VAT!

Don't download them, they're only about £15 on eBay genuine.

People have reported problems with downloaded fw discs.

Thanks chris. Yep went for that in the end. Thought I don't want to wreck it. Will post update once received and (hopefully) installed successfully!

received update discs this morning - updated and now all fully working. CD 2 was not of any use to me though as my A6 does not have bluetooth so no updates took place there
