I recently purchased my A4 cab with the RS4 9 spoke Rims in a pretty poor condition. But I didn't let this put me off buying it as I thought I would have to worry about kerbing them myself!

But I now have the oppertunity to have them refurbished while its in the bodyshop. Is there anything that I should be aware of when I have them done as I have no experience of these independant wheel refurbishment business?

    cheers

The bodyshop should normally have good connections. I've had all 5 of mine done by the dealer before I took delivery of the car (ok they did the 4 on the car and tried to hde the one in the boot). They use a local chap to where I live and he goes once a week to the dealers (about 80 miles away) and does all theirs. Takes a couple of hours a wheel really - but the results are stunning.

Can't speak for all wheel refurbers, but he has done an excellent job, including polishing. Not sure what you are expecting to pay, but for this guy if you do an individual wheel it's ~ £70 - all 4 it comes down to £220 for the lot.

    Hth,
    Cheers,
    Dan.

Cheers Dan - I think I was quoted around £220 for the four (the spare is a spacesaver) So that sounds about a reasonable rate and sounds like, if they can charge that much they should be doing as good a job It will be nice to have nice new rims on my car for a change.
