220 - 180 = 40 which is no age at all for a dodgy ticker!

I'm a couple of years old than you, and keep thinking yes I must do more exercise and eat less, but it's difficult to do without some severe motivation.
Nothing to see here, move along..

Got the Pug sorted. from this pic below though, I've changed the saddle and the tyres. The brakes are terrifying but WE used to manage with them back in the day.

I'm not interested in the least about cars at the mo, been polishing bits of the bike though. Look at the shine on these 29 year old Weinmann brake calipers LOL

Raring to go as I'm on the road to recovery but the weather has broken. Was hoping to do a blast (well take it easy'ish) this weekend.

Will have to continue on the hilly 4 miler with Kipper (my dog) on the business bike.

Or should I take the old Raleigh?

    I could open a bike shop !

Got my first check up after surgery next Thursday. I'll find out if this gadget in mt chest has been doing anything other than listening. That'll be a good precursor as to whether I'll be back behind the wheel of a car in 5 months (was six but am counting down).

Tell you what though about the old racers. The gearing is high, even the lowest gear compared to the mountain / hybrids I've been used to riding for the last 20 years. On my old racer I used to ride to school back in the 80's with the same high gearing, I never had an issue and used to monster it along and up hills. My goal is to get some where near that ability!

    Cheers Gents,

Currently 4 months down, 2 to go on the medical driving ban.

Nothing has happened physically, this device has not gone off but it is tough living with prospect of it doing so at any time. In fact the prospect is that I could have another sudden cardiac arrest at any time and the device would go off and bring me back. But I've been cracking on and get about on the bike as much as I can and take the dog out every day.

It is going to be tricky getting behind the wheel when the time comes. That is something I never thought I would think but there again I never thought I'd be in this situation.

Hope you get well soon Col. Must be frustrating feeling right as rain but knowing something *could* happen at anytime. I guess that goes for everybody but more so in your case when something has gone wrong in the past.

Driving again will feel a little alien at first but you'll soon pick it up again.

    Good luck with everything chap!
