Audi a6 3.0tdi timing chain tensioner

Hi all I've got a audi a6 3.0tdi Quattro. With the dreaded rattle on startup. Have been told I can replace the tensioner on the right hand bank in situe is this true. Thanks. Richy.

Yes it is true but in most occasions it does not fix the problem. More of these are coming to light and £3,500 inc the upgraded parts is the outcome. Not Nice. Regards Peter

Gunna try tha 1st I'm a mechanic anyway so if it doesn't fix it al have to pull it out thanks mate

I had chain rattle fix done at indi, all chains/tensioners ... have you checked state of rest of engine? ie injectors , etc ...
