    Hi

The parking brake warning light has been flashing in my '07 Passat 2.0 TDi. After doing a diagnostic, my local VW dealer tells me that both rear brake calipers need replacing and it will cost £1,088.

    Does this price sound reasonable?

    Thanks in advance.

VW PASSAT 2006-07 REAR RIGHT BRAKE CALIPER HOUSING WITH SERVOMOTOR 3C0615404EX-G | eBay

    welcome .
this is one caliper, a trw not genuine which vw would use. add another, some labour, brake fluid, possibly pads, and you have about what you have been quoted. an indy would get the price down a bit for you though. expensive cars these modern ones are.

edit. my first thought on this was 'daylight robbery'. i was upset enough at having to pay £75 each for a rear caliper, until i found my spares car had new genuine ones fitted . but yours are not just calipers, they are motors as well, which adds to the cost.

    Thanks zollaf.

To clarify, the note from the garage states: "Parking brake defective, both rear motors with callipers required"

Check GSF, TPS etc, I'm sure these calipers are £250 a pop now,

Sheet design to allow damage from stones and temps, my VX doesn't even need a VCDS to wind back with, it's got a box that replicates you to the calipers, calipers have nothing bolted to them to break, bad VW

All B6 rear calipers are TRW even if supplied by VW. You can buy a couple of calipers inc motor from brakeparts.co.uk. They are genuine recon calipers with new motors. Half the price of VW dealer.

Is this the only fault you have?
Do both sides' rear calipers work with EPB or only one?
Do your rear brakes stick on?
