    I've got a 2005 SEAT Toledo 1.6 which as you all know is basically a Spanish Golf. Brilliant car but could do with a teensy weensy bit more oomph

    Any tricks you lot know about?

    I would try running it on super+ fuel, if that does not give it enough help, maybe a remap/chip would?

    maybe running it on Sheel Optimax to start with.. you also notice a differeance..

    If not.. a remap...

    £250 from chip and spin.. see one of the thread on the site..

    first of all, i doubt shell optimax/any generic 'performance' fuel is going to help the 1.6, it's just not finely tuned enough to even bother wasting your money on 'super' fuel IMHO.

    also, the remap will add a few ponies, but no where near what you'd get on a turbo engine, non-turbo engines have very minimal gains. tbh, for what you'd spend getting the few extra ponies out of it, id probably consider either changing engine (expensive) or changing car....

    getting a good quality FAI (forced air intake) would aid acceleration and make the pickup a lot smoother
